Going aggressive on Indian market, Yamaha Motors, the big daddy of the biking world has re-launched the R15 motorcycle in India for a price tag of Rs. 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The YZF-R15 version 2.0 is a 150cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke fuel injected bike and is available for booking from today across all Yamaha outlets in India.
Yamaha, which has steadily grown its presence in the Indian market, expects the new R15 variant to serve the needs of sports bike enthusiasts in India. It says the new upgraded version of R15 will add a new and exciting dimension to biking in the country.
The new face-lifted Yamaha YZF-R15 now comes with liquid-cooled engine which it says is widely used in automobiles and large capacity motorcycles. It says YZF-R15 uses a special compact and lightweight aluminum radiator and a body design that utilizes airflow for heat dissipation, which enables it to deliver stable performance during long-distance, high-speed riding and hill climbing. The design has been adopted from its supersport model YZF-R1.
While the specifications of the bike remains the same (17 PS @ 8,500 RPM & 15 Nm of torque @ 7,500 RPM) the new upgrades include an all new split seat, LED Tail Light, aluminum Swingarm, and a wider rear wheel now as thick as 17 inches (130/70-R17).
The R15 version 2.0 now has a truss structure that enables greater rigidity and better handling at turns. The model’s “low front, high tail” design allows bikers to feel comfortable in both sporty riding and everyday riding around town.
The bike weighs 136 kgs and is available in three new exciting shades, namely Racing Blue, Mignight Black and Sunset Red.
